PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER TO STOP BULLYING
Cyber bullying has added a whole new dimension to the very serious problem of bullying. 160,000 students don’t go to school each day because they fear being bullied. This presentation will describe the various types of bullying and the skills and strategies students need to prevent becoming victims of bullies.
AN EDUCATION ODYSSEY FOR TWICE EXCEPTIONAL STUDENTS

180,000 students in our nation’s schools have been identified as “twice exceptional”. This presentation includes the characteristics of these students, classroom management, delivery of instruction and a nurturing environment to meet the academic and personal needs of “twice exceptional” students.
HELPING TWICE EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN CREATE NEW POSSIBILITIES
Twice exceptional children who are both gifted and learning disabled or gifted with ADHD or gifted with Asperger Syndrome often don’t understand their dual exceptionality. This in turn can lead to academic problems, self-esteem issues, feelings of inadequacy and an inability to “create new possibilities”. This session will give parents and teachers tools to help twice exceptional children understand their “unique giftedness” and thus to help them achieve at a level commensurate with their ability.
The tools will include means that twice exceptional students can use to help them compensate for their learning disability that may in turn be masking their giftedness. The session will also include a presentation of skills that can be taught to build self-esteem in all students, especially twice exceptional students.
